What battery should I use to power my monitor?
There are a few options. You can use a universal standalone battery pack w/ its own charger like the Tekkeon MP3450i or you can use a battery plate that will work with standard camera batteries. Each has their advantages. Universal Batteries like the Tekkeon are able to power much more than just the monitor they can be used to extend the life of laptops power cameras, and even charge cell phones. How long will the battery last?
All batteries are rated in mAh (milliamp hours) or Wh (Watt Hours) to determine how long a given battery pack will last you need to first find the Wh (watt Hour) rating of a battery. Then divide the Wh by current draw in watts and you come up with a time
Formula: (mAh*Voltage)/= mWh . mWh/ (current draw*1000) =battery life in hours
For example 7200 mAh lithium ion 7.4V battery on our HD089B which uses 13 Watts.
(7200*7.4)=53280
53280/13000=4.098
Rounded off to the nearest half hour = 4hrs.
